This was the 2nd day in Phuket. My first try for sea canoeing...I only tried dragon boat rowing during Form6 but not canoeing. Indeed I fell in love with CANOEING~ Now I can at least control the direction while paddling through the waters. =)
We all felt the fulfillment while spending most of the time getting closer to nature, especially Philip and Angela I should say, because in Hong Kong, you don't get the chance to canoe through sea caves! We set off through the Ao Por jetty at 8.30am, per the ground arrangement by our agent. Thanks to Linda (the operation manager) for the great deal, I really think that our trip was super worthwhile! (If you wanna go for this, can ask for my help on the special deal since I'm quite familiar with the agent now~) By the way, check out Phuket Panwa Canoe.
Ao Por jetty - the starting point of our journey...
Philip's Canon EOS really amazed us...
And this...using my Panasonic LUMIX...
Feels like boarding a private cruise.
Scenery was breathtaking, and we went home with flat batteries for all 6 cameras...and nearly running out storage. Luckily I bought another additional 2GB SD card at Jungceylon on the first day, and should it last for another 2 days photo shooting... Honestly I can't finish our canoe story in a single post...so let the photos tell story la.
We were the only 6 with yellow skin on the boat. The youngest one was from India.
Let's go!
Do you like my shades? Steve kept saying I look like Baja Hitam wor.
Demonstration on how to apply sunblock~
Captain Jimmy giving explanations on the trip details.
And demonstrated the correct way of going down the stairs to avoid slipping.
Every meal is included~ FREE FLOW of drinks and snacks!
Mesmerizing at the beautiful coastline of Phang Nga bay.
I was worried that it would rain because during the Vegetarian Festival, it usually rains. But luckily the weather was superb sunny.
The sea was full of canoes...all from different travel agencies.
Ours were in bright red. I like it!
I was shivering...hahaha...
Off we go~ Credits to the paddlers for their excellent service.
Camwhores just couldn't get enough of photo shooting...
Here comes Ethan and Michelle.
All 6 ready for self-paddling.
We paddled for almost an hour and nearly forgot about the time. Only when we realized that we've paddled far away from the crowd, the others had already went back to the boat! Our guide then blew the whistle and waved at us, asking us to paddle back to the boat, but erm...we left our belongings at the shore lar! Was damn embarrasing when the paddlers actually tied a rope on our canoe and then pulled us back to the shore....damn damn embarrasing as we looked like idiots lost in the sea and waiting for rescue....haiz... Paiseh lar, wasting people's time also. =p
So after we got onto the boat, journey continued - to the next stop - JAMES BOND ISLAND! As it took another half an hour to reach there, for sure we wouldn't just sit quietly and wait. Philip fell into the water and was soaking wet since then, he's naked (topless only lar) throughout the journey. Previously we thought we only need to bring along towel and a spare shirt but we were wrong... Should just bring another set of outfits because later on we all became "chicken falling into the soup" (in chinese saying 落汤鸡) after paddling through the sea caves. What to do, our paddlers were the craziest among all. But indeed we had a lot of fun!
"6 jokers blocking my sight... Over...over...."
And here's the 6 jokers....
The nastiest paddler who can dance really well...I think he should instead be a dancer.
Princess on deck.
Along the coastline lies the limestone karst formations. Lots and lots of islands... I was kind of lost in the middle of a thousand islands now... Amazing view! Were we sailing like the Pirates of the Carribean? I think YES!!! Ship-A-Hoy~
And what's the name of this island? I don't know but no doubt the seascape of Phang Nga is bizarre.
So what were we doing in the 30 minutes?
....Waiting for another coastline for canoeing.
Changing camera lens.
Flying~
Camwhoring...
....and enjoying the free bottomless COKE!! Cheers~
Nothing much for me to do, so I kissed the islands one by one...
Muaahhh~
Muuuaaaahhhhh~
Mmmmmuuuuuuaaaaaahhhhhhhh~
If I win a lottery, I will get myself a cruiser boat, then shall I always have the chance to sail through the waves like this....Mmuuuaaahhhhh!
Took a peep at the food.... I'm starving already!!
Although my stomach was already growling...but...James Bond Island here I come~~ .....to be continued.....
